Get to know about the different things to do in Jaipur from a locality to make the best of your Jaipur trip

“I've been all around the world, done all there is to do
But you'll always be the home I wanna come home to
You're a wild night with a hell of a view
There ain't no place, ain't no place like you
There ain't no place, ain't no place like you
Said there ain't no place, ain't no place like you, yeah…”

This song by “Backstreet Boys” always makes me remember home, Jaipur which is now the latest entrant in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
Yes, it surely is a proud moment for every Indian but being the local here who have spent a major part of her life in the city, I couldn’t be more happy and prouder( if that’s a word).

Getting back to the intent of writing the post, here I am going to tell you about the most exciting things you can do in Jaipur to make the best of every minute and penny you spend here. You may not find these things in the itinerary of tour and travel agency, so make sure you have a spare day or two to enjoy these facets of Pink City as well.

Here it goes:

  1. Are you a big fan of classic loft-style which by the way looks very vintage and alluring? Then Don’t forget to visit the Indian Coffee house which is located at M.I. road. As per the punchline of a famed television show of India, “a lot can happen over coffee”, you too can make the most of your visit to this coffee paradise which still has the classic taste, faded aesthetics and traditional attires for the waiters.
  2. An evening stroll along the statue circle garden is one of the best ways to spend your evening in the city as it has very soothing environs at these hours of the day. Also, don’t forget to add the caffeine charms with the best coffee of the Pink city you can get from a small dairy nestled at the corner. (by now, you would have guessed that I am a coffee lover too and hence know the best spots to enjoy the brew)
  3. Yeah, I got that you have heard it and read it as many times but your Jaipur Tour is incomplete without a visit to Amber Fort. The edifice hides magnificence to a whole other extent beyond everyone’s imagination and you can only experience it when you visit by yourself. Also, don’t forget to hog over the “mawa prasad” of Shila Devi Temple which is a complete treat for all sweet tooth. Also, enjoy the spicy flavors a “gaanthe” a kind of snack you can get prominently near the shops of Amber Fort.
  4. You probably have been told about the panoramic view of the whole city from the Nahargarh Fort is spectacular. I couldn't agree more, it is breathtaking and jawdropping and mindblowing (and every adjective that defines the extent of absolute beauty). But don’t forget to gaze the skies late in the evening from here. It is pretty heart-throbbing.
  5. There are many spots in Jaipur to treat your taste buds. And while mentioning about treats, make sure you savor the flavors of Jaipur’s special pyaaz ki Kachori, Mawa Kachori, Ghewar, and a lot more. And if you’re a big fan of fine dining that has the flair of traditional flavors, make sure you visit Clarks Amer.
  6. The famed structure of Birla Mandir of Jaipur is famous for two things - its sheer pristine beauty and the gourmet Pav Bhaji from Pandit Ji, you can find right outside the temple. Believe it or not many of the visit to the Birla Temple is to pay homage to Laxmi Narayan and to suffice the hunger for the best Pav Bhaji of the city.
  7. By now if you’re thinking Foodies find paradise here, you are right. But the capital city of Rajasthan has something ( actually a lot of things) in store for art lovers as well. Be it the theatre performance at Ravindra Manch or the art exhibitions at Jawahar Kala Kendra, the art lover can find a lot to drool over here.
  8. One of the best ways to start a day in the city is by attending the “Mangla Aarti”, the very first aarti of the day at Govind Dev Ji Temple. When every person present there starts singing along in sync (most of the time), the whole environs of the temple complex feels ethereal. Also, you will get enamored over the idol of Lord Krishna resided in Temple which looks exactly like his incarnation form on earth.
  9. Also, the city has a “food Mecca” for foodies named as “Masala Chowk” wherein you can find the best and most famous food joints of the city under one roof. So why waste that extra time and money for traveling from one place to another for food, when you can spend both of it on gourmet treats? (That’s what Joey would have said and I will nod with a big smile in affirmation like many of you)
  10. Also, if you want to capture some pictures that go along with all the “saved captions and quotes”, there are many points in Jaipur serving that purpose well. Albert hall museum with the flock of pigeons at its entrance will add the ideal flair you want in your picture.
  11. Also, you can live “royalty”, you can eat “royalty” and you can take a stroll down “royalty” at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur which served as the former residence of the royal family of Jaipur. And by what I said earlier, I mean it as you can enjoy the royal dining, stay at royal suites and enjoy a stroll along with the luscious gardens of the Palace.
  12. Wait, did I tell this before that as amazing the skies look from the lands of Jaipur, as wonderful as the lands and the wonders it is bestowed with, look from skies… Enjoy the panoramic view of the city while enjoying the Hot Air Ballooning.
  13. Jaipur has got its metro a few years back and taking a ride in it might not be a “new thing” for travelers from different corners of the world. But do take it as you can enjoy the wall art on each station. Like the metro station of aatish market has a beautiful painting of a woman in her tribal attire and a man in his traditional outfit playing a musical instrument. Total worthy to check out…
  14. Also, how we cherish and dream of living in a treehouse while growing up… At Treehouse resort in Jaipur, you can enjoy that childhood dream.
  15. January is one of the most ideal months to visit Jaipur for different reasons. Firstly you can enjoy the literary extravaganza as the Jaipur Literature Festival. Second, you can enjoy the Sakranti in which the skies of Jaipur is studded with colorful kites during the day and several lanterns at night. Third, because you can enjoy the vintage car rally organized in the state during this month.
  16. Also, the markets of Jaipur are famed for many things. From blue pottery to silver jewelry, from handicrafts and handloom items to Jaipuri quilts, if you want to wear, or add that Bohemian charm to your place, Jaipur has got so much in-store. Also, don’t be hesitant in bargaining, you can get it for almost half the price or even less than what the shopkeeper tells you in the first place. Also, you can pretend to walk away to add a bit “drama” as in most cases, they call you and agree with the price.
  17. Isarlat Sargasooli is one of the towering structures of the city you should visit to enjoy the panoramic vistas of the bustling city.
  18. Also enjoy the lassiwala’s Lassi, Ramchandra ki Kulfi, Annu Mobile Paan Bhandar’s Paan and Gulab Ji’s tea. Thank me later.
  19. These are some of the best things that you can enjoy in Jaipur. It has got a lot more that I can't pen down in words simply because some experiences are worth living. So, along with all those “touristy things” don’t forget to enjoy these charms as well.

Warm regards
